Outline of the Midget Female AAA Provincials

  • NOTE TIME AND LOCATION CHANGE Coaches & Managers Meeting 
    • Thursday 7:00 PM 
    • Foothills Centennial Centre, Rotary Room 
    • Foothills Centennial Centre #4-204 Community Way (next door to Pason Centennial Arena)

  • All teams play two round robin games Friday and one Saturday.
  • Saturday Evening 5:00 PM - Banquet for all teams.
  • Sunday Bronze Medal game and ATB Financial Provincial Championship Gold medal game.

Community Access Pass

This is an ALL-IN-ADMISSION as per Hockey Alberta guidelines to ensure event accessibility and attendance. This grants access to all parents, siblings, relatives, friends, and interested spectators to watch some of the very best Midget Female hockey in the province.  A $700 Community Access Pass Fee is due from all qualifying teams.

Provincials Banquet (for participants only)

Dinner is FREE for players and coaches. All teams are required to attend the Banquet.

Sponsored by the Elks Lodge, it will take place at the Elks Hall in Okotoks at 5:00 PM Saturday night, wrapped up by 8:00 PM . Team members are recommended to dress up semi-formal. Complimentary tickets will be provided for players and carded Team Officials (to a maximum of 24 carded to the team).

Banquet Guest Speaker

Meaghan Mikkelson 

Sponsored by Wickenheiser Female World Hockey Festival, Meaghan Mikkelson will join the AFHL Midget AAA Provincials Banquet. Mikkelson grew up in St. Albert, and represented Team Alberta at the 2003 Canada Winter Games. Meaghan played NCAA for the Wisconsin Badgers. She played on Team Canada winning two gold medals from the 2010 and 2014 Olympic Winter Games, a gold medal from the 2012 IIHF Women’s World Championships, and four silver medals from the 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2013 IIHF Women’s World Championships. Meaghan plays with the Calgary Inferno of the CWHL. Meaghan continues to look for ways to improve as an athlete, an individual, and a “hockey mom”, and is excited to share her experiences with other young female athletes.
